The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus changed how the battery is held in. Instead of the stretch-release adhesive strips older iPhones use, the cell is bonded with an adhesive that lets go when a small electrical current is run through it. It is a cleaner job when done properly, and it is one reason we would not attempt this one with a hairdryer and a guitar pick.

$159 for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16e, and $199 for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max — the Pro sizes take a higher-capacity cell, which costs us more. Either way that is the whole price: the cell, fitting, testing and a 6–12 month warranty, with no separate labour charge.
Settings → Battery → Battery Health. Below 80% maximum capacity means the cell is worn. A phone that shuts down with charge still showing is another clear sign. We check it free either way — sometimes the real fault is the charging port, and we would rather find that than sell you a battery.
No. The 16e arrived in early 2025 as a separate, cheaper model, and it takes its own battery rather than the iPhone 16's cell, so we order to the exact model. The price is the same as the 16 and 16 Plus; only the 16 Pro and Pro Max sit on the higher price tier.
